“Hands-on” practicum on nuclear physics for high-school students from Israel
17 high-school students accompanied by teachers from the HEMDA, the Centre for Science Education, Tel Aviv, Israel, took part in 1-day extensive “hands-on” practicum on nuclear physics.
On April 11, 2018, the VLab team headed by professor Yu.A. Panebrattsev has organized the extensive “hands-on” practicum program for the group of high-school students from Tel Aviv. Under the supervision of VLab team students got acquainted with basics of electrical signals measurement, learned about operation of semiconductor, scintillation and time-of-flight detectors, studied the vacuum system for nuclear experiment, assembled and worked with a scintillation telescope of cosmic rays. Our supervisors of this practicum were very glad to work with such the gifted students from Israel. And we welcome new students for such the challenge!
